What kind of a rubbish present is that??

You know how boring it is when your owner just sits there in the kitchen with her friends and chatters on and on and on.

I mean, if all they're up to is having a good old gossip, then they really could and should be doing something more useful. Like taking you out for a walk. Or at very least they should move to the front room where I have a comfy sofa and don't have to lie on the cold hard floor.

Not being one to hide my feelings (but also of course being polite and considerate), I tend to let them talk for about fifteen minutes - plenty of time to down a cup of tea or a glass of wine, don't you think - before I vocalise my discontent with the situation.

Well do you know what? Yesterday Gail came home from a shopping trip, and made a big song and dance about putting this on the kitchen floor.
She kept lifting me up and plonking me down the new cushion. But it didn't smell very interesting, except when she put some beef jerky on it (thanks Marse for that by the way - a lovely present from the USA via Poland).
I do believe Gail is under the impression - very much mistaken - that I might now happily sit in the kitchen for ever and ever on this 'present' while she and her friends are having a wee blether!

 I think not.
You don't think I'm being ungrateful do you?

Boy oh boy those humaans need to be a little more considerate where they do all their gossiping. Don't they know we like a nice soft area to sit on and listen. At least you got a few treats out of the deal cutie.

Hi Hamish, that looks like a nice cosy cushion for the winter but is no substitute for the sofa!
Perhaps Gail will move the cushion into the living room - after all the kitchen is no place for a dog of your years.
As for this gossiping we quite agree that can be done in the comfort of the living room!!!

Hi Hamish,
I totally agree with you. I would not like laying on the cold hard floor, do you think they would if...we were the ones talking, I think not!!!

so, hold your ground and insist they move to the LR. When my mom gabs, they do it at the table or in the LR. Either room I can perch on "MY" loveseat. They just think that it is their loveseat but we all know different!!

Good luck

We know that is not even close to being as comfy as the sofa. What is she thinking??

Hey Hamish
Are you really sure that cushion was for you? There are so many pawprints on the cushion and I am sure you will be able to establish that they are NOT yours. Also, y
ou seem to have three penguins on the loose in that kitchen. Perhaps check with Gail...afterall you did claim that sofa.
By the way, I think you are looking as cute as ever!

Yes, I do think you are being ungrateful, Hamish. You don't have to be in the kitchen at all with the girls, you are just afraid you are gonna miss something. Gail bought you a perfectly nice cushion to sit or have a lie down on so you wouldn't be excluded. She is most thoughtful of you, and you need to make an apology to her, is my feeling. Good heavens!

Kisses,
Stella

That is a cute bed, but sometimes humans just need to learn. Couches are better than beds, even if they are comfy.

A bed on the hard floor in the kitchen? I do not think so... sorry Mom, maybe if she puts it up on the couch, then picks you up, and puts yummy treats on it too! That is what you deserve!

It looks like buying you a cushion for the kitchen floor means more chatting in the kitchen! Hmmmm you have a dilemma Hamish.

Hahaha this post made us BOL. Our momma has "dog pillows" thrown all over the cabin and guess where we end up sleeping?? Hootie takes the people bed and I take the couch. Really, a pillow on the floor?

Personally, we think it probably just doesn't come close to smelling right just yet. It looks comfortable and all, for being on the floor. But things on the floor need to smell pretty enticing, otherwise, why stay that low to the ground? Do the ladies ever sit on the kitchen floor to yammer on and on? No. We didn't think so.

Good luck

Tell Gail that if she keeps plopping jerky on the pillow, you'll be happy to oblige!
