Breed envy

Sorry I haven't been in touch this week. A change of plan at short notice meant spending the week over at our Loch Torridon cottage - great views but no internet access.

We went for a walk on Beinn Alligin, and I decided to see what it would be like to be one of my black coated Scottie cousins for the day.

Do you think I succeeded?

I think I looked pretty  good.

But Gail seemed less than keen on the new image, and wouldn't let me back in the Mini until I'd had a cold bath...

Now I have just learned that my friends the  Rocky Creek Scotties are having a 'stick out your tongue' challenge. It so happens that I posed in appropriate fashion a couple of days ago, and would like to enter the photo below in the sub-category 'best tongue displayed in a beautiful mountain landscape'!

This final picture probably won't interest you, because I'm not in it, but Gail is convinced that some people/dogs might like to see the view outside our cottage at about 10:15 pm on Midsummer night.

I had a black Scottie, Hamish, and it was more than just his undercarriage that was that color.

Remember what you told me when I thought I wanted to be a Siberian Husky? You told me to stay just the way I was, and I'd suggest maybe you consider the same.

Tell Gail I loved the view and I can see why you enjoy your lake cottage so much!

Kisses,
Stella

Hamish, half the time people ask if I'm a Westie and Mommy has to wonder if they just think I'm dingy.

You've got to come over and see what YOU have been up to this past week. Gail won't believe how busy you were!

The view from the cottage was divine. Maybe we'll stop there on our return trip!

Your pal,

Petey

Hi there! I'm a pale wheaten scotty and people always thing I'm a Westie. What...they can't see the SCHNOZE? I get all muddy black lik that at the dog park and my tall mom makes me wash off before I get back in the truck. We are so jealous that you get to live and play in Scotland. All those wonderful walkies and the clear sweet air. Arooooo from Bonnie the scottie.ty

Hi Hamish
We just loved your pictures today - that Gail is no fun!
She must be one of these humans obsesses with being clean. We really cant understand it but we believe we could book her in for therapy sessions!
You looked great all covered in mud and rolling about - HRH was quite overcome - well she likes her men to be a bit muddy!
We loved the one with the loch and mountain backdrop for your tongue picture.
Oh we forgot you are a knight now!!!
Arise Sir Hamish and enter the mini - lock the doors and dont let that Gail in!

PS Did you have a look at our post below the present one - we thought we met you and Bailey went into the water with you - except it couldnt have been you if you were up at Loch Torridon!

Oh Hamish, your "stick out your tongue" photo is great!!!

We suggest you don't go for the Scottie look unless you like swimming in cold water.

Our Mom thinks the evening view from your cottage is so restful. We hope you enjoyed it.

We love that view! How perfect! Mid-summer's night. That's worth giving up internet access. Those clouds and that color take us to another world.

As for the new look.... consider it an alter ego. A fun way to try on a make-over. We're guessing it was nice to come back to your beautiful white self. Cold stream or not.
