Congrats Ben - Westies can surf too...

See this young man here? The one on the left, showing his 'appreciation' of his father's newly acquired accordion playing skills. He's called Ben and he's Gail's godson. And he's just passed  his 'A' levels, all with grade A. Which means, for those of you unfamiliar with the English education system, that he's altogether brilliant, clever, hard-working, handsome, witty, kind, brilliant (did I say that already?) etc. etc. It's a bit like winning all the rosettes at a dog show, only better.

So Ben will shortly be off to Exeter University to read history. And Ben, I shall try not to take it personally, the fact that you have chosen to study in a city that is about as far away from Aberdeen as it is possible to be while remaining the UK. I understand that your choice of place to study was dictated by the proximity of excellent surfing beaches - oh apologies - I meant to say the high academic standards of Exeter's history department

And perhaps I can come to visit some time? Please? After all, it seems that Westies can learn to surf too......

Hey there Hamish
Please do send our congratulations to Ben. That is a fantastic achievement. Seems like he takes after his Godmother in the brains department.
And Hamish...both you and Ben better come and visit our Jeffrey's Bay in SOUTH AFRICA. It has some of the best surf in the world!
Lots of licks

Hello my friend Hamish!

Congrats to your godson on his excellent scholastics! What Gail and you have MUST be catching!

But wait a minute, Yoga for Gail, surfing for you? I do hope you take some care for your bodies, we only have one to last the duration you know!

Kisses,

Stella

Tell Gail to be grateful that Ben's at least staying on your side of the big pee! With all those smarts and good looks (and that accent that makes American girls go weak in the knees) he could have headed to Harvard or Princeton or Yale - all within proximity to beaches!

You look awfully good on that surf board - yet another hidden talent!

Your pal,

Petey

Hi Hamish
How very clever of Ben - very well done!
We were, of course, not surprised to discover that his chosen subject was not music!
We are aware of the very high standard required for Exeter and we hope he is quite rightly proud of himself.
What a family of academics you are in Hamish!
It is no wonder that you are such a deep thinking little dog!
The picture of you wind surfing was brilliant.
We can only hope that Gail has master something of photoshop as we would hate to think what you endured for that particular photo.
We anticipate that as Godmother, Gail will see fit to reward Ben - in our experience the only thing appreciated in these situations in money!!!Though of course tickets for a concert could be considered given his appreciation of all things musical!
love and kisses

Hi Hamish: I know about the picture, just like the one of me in my dress, but it is fun to play at things, isn't it?

Yes, we really did have fun at the lake, and someone asked me if I splashed my Mom. I pulled her way in the water! Her shoes and socks got all wet, but it was OK because they were her old ones. Next time she is bringing the long leash!

Kisses,
Stella
