Polish sausage dog

At last - the technical support has returned!

It seems Gail timed her holiday in Poland very badly indeed.

Had she been in Krakow earlier in September, she could have witnessed what must surely be the highlight of the cultural year in all of Poland, the annual dachshund fancy dress parade (Marsz Jamników).

What a splendid idea. And how appropriate, that Poles like to celebrate the sausage dog.....

We don't see many of these very short legged little fellows here in Aberdeen, but I do feel that next year, Scotland should be represented at this special festival. A dachshund would suit a kilt, don't you think?

And as for Polish sausages, see what Gail brought back. The smoked cheese smells delicious too. I do hope she's going to share....

PS I'll be coming round to say hello to all my friends as soon as I can. But, truth to tell, I am in total disgrace at the moment after an incident when Gail was away, so my computer time is being rationed, as punishment.

Oh dear what lovely costumes. I thought that was a hot dog on that plate. I sure would have been worried. Thank goodness it was a Polish sausage.

Hi Hamish! I am so glad you are back and I don't care one bit about what you did that was naughty.

Did you get any of my ESP messages, where I thought of you and faced the east to send them to you?

Kisses,
Stella

Oh we just L-O-V-E that beautiful polish wiener dog. So festive! Mommy is part Polish so has a few of the traditional dolls. Never saw a dog dressed in the garb though...very cool.

Okay Hamish, what did you do to rile Gail up?? We want the story.

Hi Hamish,
I'm glad you're blogging again. I wanted to introduce myself. My friend Edie found your blog for me one way when she was reading the Guardian and you commented on "take your dog to work" day. She knew I'd be interested in that because I love going to work at her university. The secretaries give me treats and sometimes my friend Jack (the Jack Russell, whom I love love love despite his preference for ball playing human companions). Anyhoo, I liked that article and I've happily taken to reading your blog. Besides being a pretty funny writer, Hamish, you're a lucky dog, what with the nice walks you go on and your good friends.
I live in New Brunswick in Canada. I guess I have a pretty nice life, too. I had a jolly time time running on sandy beaches and clambering over rocks in Nova Scotia on our holiday (this confuses Edie as I'm a little afraid to go up and down stairs, but I figure it's my Scottish breeding). I hope it's okay if I keep reading your blog...I didn't want to be a lurker.
Your doppelganger (but without a blog),
Hamish the Westie
p.s I'm named after Hamish Macbeth.

Uh oh. Will we find out what happened if we keep reading? We know you're back... so all must be repaired. We hope so, anyway.

Love ya,
