Grumpy Old Dog...

Oh dear, I am feeling out of sorts this week. Things are not going my way.

I've become so used to having Gail all to myself, but it seems that I have a rival for her attention - this horrible 'job' business.

What's worse, I've come over all itchy, and can't stop chewing myself. Look at my poor paw...

(I told Gail to post a picture of my itchy groin area too, but she reminded me that this is a family blog).

And when I went for a walk with my friends Lucy and Florrie yesterday, on the beach at St. Cyrus, OK, it was fun to start with....

But before too long I started to feel my age, and eventually I came over all shaky and had to be carried. Which is just wee bit humiliating.

And now it's Sunday and pouring with rain and I haven't even been taken for a walk round the block yet.

Please post some nice comments to cheer me up.

PS From Gail - Hamish is going to the V-E-T about his skin problems on Tuesday.

Aw poor Hamish - you are out of sorts!
Martha has also not been feeling well and was sick all over the bed in the House on Wheels!!!
Perhaps it is the weather!
We hope you are back to your old self soon - perhaps you just need a wee rest and some quality time with Gail.
We think this 'job' thing is a bad idea - tell Gail our mum is hoping to win the lottery soon and we will make sure she gets a wee cut when we do so she can spend more time with yourself.

Oh dear Hamish, what to do? Maybe you picked up the itchies from some plant you roamed around in. The vet will fix you right up, and perhaps offer you an all round vitamin or something that will perk you up a bit. I wish I could be there in person to cheer you up a little, we could visit and play a bit, nap and eat . . .it would be a good time.

Kisses,

Stella

Me again Hamish! I just was looking through some old post comments and noticed you said you was making a report about the different types of rocks and how to identify them with your paws. You asked if I would like to be a field representative, I very much would! There lots of rocks here so I think I could be a big help!

Hey Hamish,

You should have your human make you a nice oatmeal bath. They do wonders!

Be a good dog and stop chewing or you'll hafta wear a cone!

But you might look really good in a cone!

Hope that cheers you up!

Hi Hamish,

Ask your Mom to get you some Glucosamine tablets and start taking them everyday to help your joints. You need to take them everyday tho and not just when you are hurting as they build up and help you. Also, Arnica could help when it is chronic. Also, putting a little Olive Oil in your food everyday will help with itchy, dry skin. Lastly, I don't know if the V-E-T in your area has a acupuncturist but it will really help too. It helped my Merlin as he aged. I am much more into the "holitic" medicine then the drugs which build up in the liver. I hope you feel much better soon Hamish! Sending you lots of love and healing light!

Hamish,

I think a new BIKE basket is exactly what you need to perk yourself up out of this funk. Mine is from www.cynthiastwigs.com. Mine is the extra-large European Market Basket for dogs over 20 lbs. ( I weigh in between 22 and 23 pounds, depending if I've had ice cream.) Mommy got the lining and the pillow and the harness - a cord that threads through the ring on my collar and attaches on either side of the basket. I cannot jump out. There's also a metal brace that attaches over the handlebars and keeps the basket secure. There is also a back rack basket that's more staple, but your view isn't as good!

I love mine, think you'd love one too!

Hamish. Phew, sorry it's taken me ages to wag up from south of the border to meet up with you.

Now this totally stinks...Gail deserting you,the itchies, the aches and stuff. Want to share a drop or two of the two of the hard stuff with me? Daddy Square has some 18 year old McCallans we can share. And I have the allergies so we can soak out tootsies in a nice soothing bath while we have our tipples. All we need now is a knoted hankie for our heads!!

Wiry wags n kisses, Eric xxx

Adding you to my pals list Hamish! Paws crossed for the vet visit.
